how to replace door switch on kenmore dryer

I’m in need of some help. I have a Kenmore dryer and I need to replace the door switch. I’m not sure how to do this and am hoping someone can provide me with some guidance. I’m comfortable with basic tools and have done some minor repairs in the past, but I’m not sure how to go about replacing the door switch. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.

  1. I recently had to replace the door switch on my Kenmore dryer. I was a bit intimidated at first because I had never done something like this before, but I was determined to get it done.

I started by unplugging the dryer from the wall and removing the back panel. This exposed the wiring and the door switch. I took a picture of the wiring before I started to make sure I could put it back together correctly. Then I disconnected the wires from the old switch and removed it.

I purchased a new switch and carefully connected the wires. I made sure to double check the wiring before I put the back panel back on. After that, I plugged the dryer back in and tested the door switch. It worked perfectly!

I was so relieved that I had been able to replace the switch on my own. It was a great feeling of accomplishment and I was proud of myself for taking on the challenge.
