why does my hotpoint dryer keep saying empty water

I have a Hotpoint dryer and it keeps saying “Empty Water”. I’ve tried to figure out why this is happening, but I’m not sure what to do. I’ve checked the water reservoir and it’s full, but the dryer still won’t work. I’ve also checked the filter and it’s clean. I’m not sure what else to do to get my dryer working again. Does anyone have any advice or experience with this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
