I was recently tasked with the job of removing the glass from a hotpoint oven door. It seemed like a simple enough task, but I soon found out that it was anything but. After a few minutes of searching online for instructions, I decided to give it a go.
I started by unplugging the oven from the wall and then removing the screws that held the door in place. With the door removed, I could see that the glass was held in place by four clips. I carefully released the clips and then gently pulled the glass away from the door.
Next, I had to remove the sealant that was holding the glass in place. I used a putty knife to carefully scrape away the sealant and then used a damp cloth to wipe away any residue. Finally, I was able to remove the glass from the oven door.
