how to install a jumper wire to bypass a hotpoint washer lid switch

I remember the first time I had to install a jumper wire to bypass a Hotpoint washer lid switch. I was a little intimidated, but I was determined to figure it out. After gathering the tools I needed, I opened the back of the washer and located the lid switch. I then took a pair of needle-nose pliers and carefully disconnected the wires from the switch. Next, I took a piece of wire and stripped off a small portion of the insulation from both ends. I then connected the exposed ends of the wire to the two terminals that were previously connected to the switch. Once I had the wire in place, I tested the washer to make sure the bypass was successful. Thankfully, it worked perfectly and I was able to get the washer running again.
