how to install a jumper wire to bypass a hotpoint washer lid switch

I’m having trouble installing a jumper wire to bypass a hotpoint washer lid switch. I’m not sure how to go about it and I’m hoping someone can help me out. I’ve tried to look up instructions online, but I’m still having trouble understanding the process. I’m not sure what tools I need or how to connect the jumper wire. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  1. I remember the first time I had to install a jumper wire to bypass a Hotpoint washer lid switch. I was a little intimidated, but I was determined to figure it out. After gathering the tools I needed, I opened the back of the washer and located the lid switch. I then took a pair of needle-nose pliers and carefully disconnected the wires from the switch. Next, I took a piece of wire and stripped off a small portion of the insulation from both ends. I then connected the exposed ends of the wire to the two terminals that were previously connected to the switch. Once I had the wire in place, I tested the washer to make sure the bypass was successful. Thankfully, it worked perfectly and I was able to get the washer running again. Installing a jumper wire to bypass a Hotpoint washer lid switch was a new experience for me, but I was glad that I was able to do it successfully.
