how to fix a hotpoint top loading washing machine that won’t spin

I have a Hotpoint top loading washing machine that won’t spin. I’ve checked the power source and it’s working fine. I’ve also checked the lid switch and it’s working properly. I’m not sure what else to do to get it to spin. Does anyone have any advice or experience with this kind of issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  1. My family has had a Hotpoint top loading washing machine for years, and it had been a reliable workhorse. But recently, it stopped spinning and I had to figure out how to fix it.

I started by unplugging the machine, and then I took off the back panel and inspected the motor. I saw that the belt had come loose and the motor was not spinning. I tightened the belt and then plugged the machine back in.

I then checked the drain hose to make sure it was not clogged. I found that it had some lint in it, so I cleaned it out and then ran a cycle to test it. The machine spun as it should and I was relieved.

Next, I checked the lid switch and the timer. I found that the lid switch was fine, but the timer was not working properly. I replaced the timer and ran another cycle. The machine spun and worked perfectly.

    I was so happy
