how to clean filter in kitchenaid dishwasher

I have a Kitchenaid dishwasher and I’m having trouble figuring out how to clean the filter. I’ve looked online and all the instructions seem to be different. I’m not sure which one to follow or if I’m even doing it right. Does anyone have any advice on how to properly clean the filter in my Kitchenaid dishwasher? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
