how to clean a kitchenaid ice maker

I’m having trouble figuring out how to clean my Kitchenaid ice maker. I’ve read the manual but it doesn’t seem to provide enough information on how to properly clean the ice maker. I’ve tried cleaning it with a vinegar solution but it doesn’t seem to be doing much. Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to clean my Kitchenaid ice maker? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  1. I had the pleasure of learning how to clean a KitchenAid ice maker recently. It was a surprisingly simple process. First, I disconnected the ice maker from the power source. Then, I removed the ice bin and emptied it. I then took a damp cloth and wiped down the inside of the ice maker, taking special care to get into any hard to reach places. Next, I filled a spray bottle with a mixture of one part vinegar to one part water and sprayed the inside of the ice maker. I let this sit for a few minutes and then wiped it down with a clean, damp cloth. Finally, I replaced the ice bin and reconnected the ice maker to the power source. The entire process took less than 10 minutes and my ice maker was sparkling clean and ready to go. It was a great feeling to know that I had taken the time to properly clean and maintain my appliance.
