how to check magnetic lid switch on ge washer

I’m trying to figure out how to check the magnetic lid switch on my GE washer. I’ve heard that it’s a common problem with these machines and I want to make sure that it’s functioning properly. I’ve tried looking online for instructions but haven’t been able to find anything that’s clear and easy to follow. Does anyone here have any advice on how to go about checking the switch? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  1. To check the magnetic lid switch on a GE washer, you will need to open the washer lid and locate the switch. It is usually located near the top of the washer’s lid, on the inside. You can then use a multimeter to test the switch for continuity. If the switch is working correctly, the multimeter should show a continuous connection. If the multimeter shows no connection, then the switch is faulty and needs to be replaced.
