how to change a belt on a ge washing machine

I’m trying to change the belt on my GE washing machine, but I’m not sure how to do it. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this? I’m really hoping to get this done soon, as the belt is starting to wear out and I don’t want to have to replace the entire machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  1. 1. Unplug the washing machine from the power source.
    2. Locate the access panel on the back of the machine and remove it.
    3. Loosen the tensioner pulley and slip the old belt off the motor and drum.
    4. Place the new belt around the drum and then around the motor pulley.
    5. Tighten the tensioner pulley to secure the belt.
    6. Replace the access panel and plug the washing machine back in.
