I recently purchased a Hotpoint washing machine and it has been making a loud banging noise when it is spinning. I’m not sure what the issue is, but it’s causing a lot of disruption in my home. I called up the Hotpoint customer service line and they sent out a repairman to take a look. He told me that the drum bearings were worn out and needed to be replaced. He said it was a common problem with this model and that it wasn’t anything to worry about.
He replaced the bearings and the banging noise was gone. I was relieved to have the problem fixed, but I was also a bit disappointed that the machine had failed me so soon. I had only had it for a few years and I had expected it to last longer.
