electrolux electric range problems when using max heat element

I recently purchased an Electrolux electric range and I’m having problems when using the max heat element. The element will heat up to the max setting, but then it will quickly drop back down to a lower temperature. I’ve tried adjusting the temperature control knob, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. I’m wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if there is a way to fix it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
