what could cause the idler pulley to go bad on a frigidaire washing machine

I have a Frigidaire washing machine and recently the idler pulley has gone bad. I’m not sure what could be causing this issue, but I’m hoping someone might be able to help. I’ve looked up some possible causes, such as a worn out belt or a bad bearing, but I’m not sure if either of those are the problem. Is there any other potential cause that I should be looking into? Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.

  1. A few potential causes of an idler pulley going bad on a Frigidaire washing machine include worn out bearings, a broken belt, or a damaged idler pulley. The idler pulley may also become loose due to a worn out belt tensioner or a broken belt tensioner spring. Additionally, it may be caused by a misaligned belt or a worn out or broken drive motor pulley.
