how to test motor sensor on hotpoint washer

I’m trying to figure out how to test the motor sensor on my Hotpoint washer. I’m not sure what the best way to go about this is. I’m familiar with some basic electrical principles, but I’m not sure how to apply them to this situation. I’m hoping to get some advice from others who may have had a similar experience. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

  1. I was recently tasked with testing the motor sensor on a Hotpoint washer. I was a bit intimidated at first, since I had never done this kind of work before. But I soon realized that it was actually quite simple. I started by unplugging the washer and removing the back panel to access the motor. I then used a multimeter to test the motor’s resistance. I was relieved to find that the motor was in good condition. Next, I tested the motor sensor. I used the multimeter again to measure the voltage across the sensor. I was pleased to find that the voltage was within the expected range. Finally, I reassembled the washer and plugged it back in. After a few test runs, I was satisfied that the motor sensor was working properly. I was proud of myself for being able to successfully diagnose and repair the washer.
