I recently had to run a diagnostics cycle on my KitchenAid dishwasher. I was a bit nervous at first, but the process was surprisingly straightforward.
First, I unplugged the dishwasher from the wall and waited a few minutes. Then, I plugged it back in and pressed the heated dry and normal buttons simultaneously. This caused the dishwasher to start running a diagnostics cycle.
The cycle ran for about 10 minutes, and during that time, the dishwasher ran through a series of tests and displayed codes on the display panel. I made sure to write down the codes so I could reference them later.
When the cycle was finished, I opened the dishwasher door and checked for any errors. Fortunately, there weren’t any. I was relieved that the diagnostics cycle had gone smoothly.
