I have a KitchenAid washer and I’m having trouble replacing the motor coupling. I’m not sure what the exact steps are to replace it and I’m hoping to get some help from this forum. I’ve done some research and I know that the motor coupling is located beneath the washer’s motor, but I’m not sure what tools I need to remove it or how to put the new one in. Any advice or tips on how to replace the motor coupling would be greatly appreciated.
I had a problem with my KitchenAid washer recently. The motor coupling was worn out and needed to be replaced. I had no idea how to do it, so I did some research and found out that it was a relatively simple fix.
First, I unplugged the washer and removed the back panel. Then I used a wrench to disconnect the motor coupling from the motor and the transmission. After that, I took the old coupling off and put the new one in place. I made sure to tighten the bolts securely and reconnected the motor and transmission.
Next, I put the back panel back on and plugged the washer back in. I tested it out and it worked perfectly. I was so relieved that I was able to replace the motor coupling without any help. It was a great feeling to have fixed the problem myself.
