how to replace a hotpoint dryer belt

I have a Hotpoint dryer and the belt has broken. I’m not sure how to replace it and I’m looking for advice. I’m not very handy when it comes to fixing appliances, so I’m hoping someone can help me out. I’ve looked online for instructions, but it looks like a complicated process. I’m not sure if I can do it myself or if I need to call a professional. Does anyone have any advice on how to replace a Hotpoint dryer belt? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  1. I had a Hotpoint dryer that was in need of a new belt. I was dreading the task, as I had never done it before. But, I was determined to get it done.

First, I unplugged the dryer and removed the back panel. Then, I located the pulley wheel and the tensioner wheel. I used a socket wrench to loosen the bolts that secured the tensioner wheel and then lifted it off. I removed the old belt and replaced it with the new one.

Next, I carefully threaded the belt around the pulley wheel and tensioner wheel. I then tightened the bolts on the tensioner wheel and made sure the belt was properly aligned. Finally, I reattached the back panel and plugged the dryer back in.

I was relieved that the job was complete. I had been worried about replacing the belt, but I was able to do it with relative ease. I was proud of myself
