how to remove foreign material from amana washing machine pump

I have an Amana washing machine and recently noticed that it was not draining properly. Upon further inspection, I found that there was a lot of foreign material stuck in the pump. I’m not sure how to remove it and am hoping to get some advice from others who may have had a similar experience. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to remove foreign material from an Amana washing machine pump? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
