how to empty trap on kitchenaid washing machine

I’m having trouble figuring out how to empty the trap on my kitchenaid washing machine. I’ve looked online and in the manual, but I’m still having trouble understanding the instructions. I’m hoping someone can help me out. I’m not very experienced with machines like this, so I’d really appreciate it if someone could explain it to me in simple, easy-to-understand terms. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your help.
