how do you remove an agitator on an older hotpoint washing machine

I’m having trouble removing the agitator from my old Hotpoint washing machine. I’ve looked up instructions online, but I’m still having difficulty. Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to remove it? I’d really appreciate any help or guidance that anyone can provide. Thanks in advance.

  1. I remember the first time I had to remove an agitator from an older Hotpoint washing machine. I was a bit nervous, but I knew I had to do it. I started by unplugging the machine from the wall and then I removed the top of the machine. I found the agitator and removed the screws that held it in place and then I gently pulled it out. I then had to remove the drive block that was underneath the agitator. This was a bit tricky, but I managed to do it. Once I had the drive block removed, I was able to take the agitator out of the machine. I put the drive block back in place and then I was ready to put the agitator back in. I put the agitator back in, replaced the screws and then I was done. It was a bit of a challenge, but I was glad that I was able to remove the agitator from the older Hotpoint
