I’m having trouble releasing the door safety latch on my Amana washing machine (model NFW7200TW). I’ve read the owner’s manual and followed the instructions, but the latch still won’t release. I’ve tried jiggling the latch, pushing the button, and even unplugging the machine, but nothing seems to work. I’m concerned that I may have damaged the latch somehow. Has anyone else had this issue and know how to resolve it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

To release the door safety latch on an Amana NFW7200TW washing machine, press and hold the Start/Pause button for 3 seconds. This will unlock the door and allow it to be opened.
