I was starting to get frustrated when I remembered that I had a friend who had the same washer. I gave her a call and she was able to give me a few tips. She told me to press down on the top of the washer and then pull up on the handle. Sure enough, it worked! I was so relieved to have figured it out. I’m so thankful for my friend’s help, and I’m glad that I was able to get the top open without having to call a repairman. I’m sure I’ll be able to figure out other tasks with this washer now that I know how to open the top.

First, I unplugged the power cord from the wall and shut off the water supply. Then, I removed the screws that held the back panel in place and carefully lifted it off. Next, I disconnected the water hoses from the back of the washer and unscrewed the mounting screws from the bottom. After that, I was able to remove the washer tub and agitator from the base. Finally, I removed the drain pump and the motor coupler. It was a tedious process, but I was relieved when I was finished. I now have a better understanding of how my washer works and how to take it apart if I ever need to.

Once I had those two pieces out of the way, I could access the inner workings of the washer. I had to be careful to not damage any of the wires or hoses as I worked. I slowly and carefully removed the hoses and wires. Then I unscrewed the screws that held the drum in place. Once I had the drum out, I could access the motor and the pulley.
