I remember the first time I had to install a jumper wire to bypass a Hotpoint washer lid switch. I was a little intimidated, but I was determined to figure it out. After gathering the tools I needed, I opened the back of the washer and located the lid switch. I then took a pair of needle-nose pliers and carefully disconnected the wires from the switch.
