why does my frigidaire refrigerator keep freezing up

I have a Frigidaire refrigerator and it keeps freezing up. I’ve tried to troubleshoot the issue myself, but I’m not sure what’s causing it. I’ve tried adjusting the temperature, but it still keeps freezing up. I’m wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what they did to fix it. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

  1. The most common cause of a refrigerator freezing up is a blocked or clogged defrost drain. This can happen when food particles, dirt, or other debris block the drain and prevent the defrost water from draining properly. Another possible cause is a faulty defrost timer or thermostat, which can cause the refrigerator to stay in a cooling cycle for too long, resulting in excessive frost buildup. It is also possible that the evaporator fan motor is not running, which can cause the evaporator coils to become too cold and freeze up.
